Coffee
Fellowship & Nuns' Reception
With
the departure of our beloved nuns from the Pastoral Staff and
the School, our refurbished Convent has been largely empty except
for occasional visitors. It was with great delight that we found
tenants from another order with ministries in Indianapolis to
occupy our space.
The Daughters
of Mary Mother of Mercy was founded in 1962 by Bishop Anthony
Gogo Nwedo of blessed memory. The purpose of this congregation
is to evangelize the people of God. The order has grown quite
large in the past number of years. Their sisters minister in Nigeria
and other parts of Africa, North America, and Europe. The apostolate
of their congregation is teaching, nursing, social work, communication.
They also take care of the elderly and work in orphanages.
The
Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy
started here in Indianapolis in 2004 with two sisters, and now
they are 14 sisters working in the Archdiocese. They have three
convents, St Bernadette, Holy Trinity, and Holy Angels. Their
apostolate in our Archdiocese is teaching, nursing, and social,
work.
Under
the enthusiastic leadership of Emma Culpepper, our dedicated
Coffee Fellowship committee arranged
to have one of its monthly gatherings on November 11, 2007, as
an occasion to welcome our new, on site neighbors.
Welcome
to Holy Angels - we're so blessed to have you with us!
