Lenten Season Began
with a New Look

Sunday mass on February 17 featured a new look to the sanctuary at Holy Angels. The purple hues of the lenten season contrasted with a new, "spruce green" wall to wall carpet, which harmonizes with the colors of the worship space. Most areas of the church, including the floor under and between the pews as well as the balcony and stairs, received the welcome refurbishing. The new carpet is lighter, more comfortable under foot, and will be easier to maintain.

Palm Sunday

Despite gray skies, a good representation of Holy Angels parishioners made our traditional procession around the two block area including Holy Angels Church and School and our neighbors at First Baptist North. Led by the Crucifix and our red, black, green and gold banners, the marchers commemorated Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, 2000 years ago. After Father Waldon's reading, comments, and blessing, the verse, "I will magnify the Lord, for He is worthy to be praised!" and the chorus "Hosanna, blessed be the Rock, blessed be the Rock of my salvation!" resounded from parish members carrying blessed palms. The start of the holiest week in Christianity was proclaimed to the near-Northwest side of Indianapolis.
