Holy Angels Catholic Church

Christmas 2004-2005

Advent 2004
"Preparing the way - waiting on the Lord!"

Holy Angels advent wreath with its purple, rose, and white candles symbolizes our journey of 4 Sundays to Christmas.

Father Waldon lights the final purple candle as the advent journey of spiritual preparation concludes.

Midnight Mass

Father Waldon elevates the statue symbolizing the Christ child, to the accompaniment of the hymn, "I Am".

Glory to God in the highest! The darkness is conquered by light - here the Christmas Trees and nativity scene glow in the darkened church.

The good news of the nativity is proclaimed in the gospel and homily.

Poinsettias and candlelight richly decorate the altar for the sacrifice honoring the savior.
For unto us is born
this day
a Savior -
Christ the Lord!

The celebration of the eucharist is the centerpiece of the midnight liturgy.

Feast of the Holy Family

The light of a winter's morning illuminates our nativity scene, blending Catholic and African traditions.

A special Christmas tree, bearing the daily advent offerings of parishioners.

A final look at the advent-turned-Christmas wreath and altar decorated with rich, cultural fabric.
