Holy
Angels is a Catholic Church which
takes responsibility for
-
proclaiming
the Gospel of Jesus to those living north of 16th street,
south of 38th street, west of Boulevard Place, and east
of White River.
-
providing
worship which meets the needs of the community it serves
-
being
a rallying point in the quest for liberty and justice for
all.
The
Catholic Church
is a Christian Church tracing its roots back through
the centuries to Peter the Apostle. The word "catholic"
means "embracing all": All ages of history, all lands,
all groups of people. As a worlldwide Church , we benefit from
the rich variety of history and expression among all people
of the world. The Black Community, then, has its gift of blackness
to offer the Church, and the Church has its gift of catholicism
to offer the Black Community.
Worship
in the Black Catholic Tradition
The
Mass is the re-presentation of the Death and Resurrection of
Jesus, as He told us to do in Memory of Him. It is a time to
be nourished by the very Body and Blood of Jesus, as well as
by the Spirit and Word of the Living God. Our choir sings at
both Sunday Services. Transportation to Sunday Worship is available
within our area - call the office during the preceding week
to determine availability.
You
are welcome to join Holy Angels Church Family.
Baptized
Catholics attend a Registration Session to learn about the special
aspects of membership in Holy Angels Church Family. All others
can call the Church office to enroll in our program of introduction
to the Catholic Faith.
