Welcome
to the 100th Anniversary information page on the Holy Angels Web Site!
In the weeks and months ahead, this will be a place for parishioners,
school parents, and other interested persons to learn about plans and
events for the year-long commmemoration of 100 years of Holy Angels
Parish Community. We plan to post news items and pictorial information
about the 100th Anniversary as soon and as often as they are available
from our anniversary committee. We hope you will check back at this
page soon, and often, to keep current with the exciting celebration
during 2002-2003.

What's
Missing?
Worshippers
at the Sunday, June 20 masses, found the walls of the sanctuary
a little bare! Our signature tapestry has been removed for professional
cleaning. We will be without our beloved image of the last supper
until later in August but we anticipate the results will make
its brief absence a worthwhile sacrifice.

Event
A
special event to inaugurate festivities for the 100th Anniversary
celebration was conducted on Sunday, January 19, concurrent
with our parish celebration of the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. A special procession unveiled a 100th Anniversary
parish banner, commissioned for the occasion. Photographs are
online at this link: Anniversary
Banner.

Pictorial
Directory
As
part of the 100th Anniversary Celebration, a committee has been
hard at work on a Parish Pictorial Directory. We hope that you
made and kept a photo appointment or submitted a picture - the
directory won't be complete without you!
Editing
on the book, including parish groups and activity photos, is
nearing completion. Our 100th anniversary directory should be
a colorful keepsake and useful reference. Details will follow
later on distribution.

Refurbishing
the Last Supper Tapestry
For
years the unique Last Supper tapestry, made in Jerusalem, has
graced the sanctuary of Holy Angels Catholic Church. This signature
symbol of worship in our church will receive a careful, professional
cleaning to restore it to its original richness and to ensure
its longevity. When consideration was given to refurbishing
or replacing the artwork, it was decided that its intrinsic
worth merited the significant expense. An anonymous parishioner
contributed the cost of cleaning. More information on the date
for the work will follow.

History
Book
A
committee chaired by Charlene Duline is compiling a history
book of Holy Angels Parish for the 100th Anniversary. In addition
to historical documents, the committee has been collecting oral
history from lay persons including current and former parishioners
and workers at Holy Angels, as well as former pastors and associates.
Historical photographs are also being researched. Father Cyprian
Davis has graciously consented to write an introduction to the
book. Editing is nearing completion. Persons wishing to contribute
materials or suggestions should contact Charlene Duline via
the Parish Office; either drop off information or email at holyangelsbulletin@hotmail.com,
Attention: Charlene Duline.
