Pentecost,
2006, was a day of celebrations at Holy Angels. First, we celebrated
the decent of the Holy Spirit upon God's people, upon the disciples,
and upon ourselves. In our pastor's words, it is the commemoration
of the beginnings of Church.
Another
beginning was the return of altar servers to Holy Angels. This
important, newly-resumed ministry serves both our youths and the
parish as a whole. Now our young people will be present on the
altar for each weekend liturgy, assisting in the sacred mysteries
of the mass. Adults will continue to serve as readers and commentators
for most services, and will also assist as Eucharistic ministers
for Holy Communion. We look forward with great anticipation to
our youths having greater participation in parish life.
A
third celebration of beginnings was "Honoring All Graduates".
Parishioners graduating from 6th Grade and above were recognized
with a special testimonial, prayer, and commemorative gifts. Best
wishes to our new graduates for fulfillment and happiness in their
lives ahead. |
