Liturgy

After the priest and lay ministers reach the foot of the altar, they bow reverently before proceding to their places behind the altar. The priest greets the congregation, begins the mass "in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit," and offers specific prayers. A prayer and song of contrition for our sins and offenses against God and neighbor occurs at this time, followed by the congregation and choir singing "Glory to God in the Highest!"
