Holy
Angels Gospel Choir sings at both masses on most Sundays and on major
holy days. A portion of the choir is seen here singing after Holy Communion.
The choir at full strength is approximately 25-30 members, and often sings
in four part harmony. Among the musical selections commonly used at mass,
some are prescribed from week to week, while others may be selected by
the choir director.
The customary worship songs include:
• the Entrance Hymn • "Lord Have Mercy" • "Glory to God" • the Responsorial Psalm (when sung) • "Alleluia" • the Offering Hymn • "Holy Holy Holy" • the Great "Amen" • "The Our Father" • "Lamb of God" • Communion Hymn • Meditation Hymn • the Recessional Hymn at the close of mass.
Many parts of the mass invite participation by the congregation in the music. When the choir is not present, congregational singing is also, often encouraged.
