Lent
2010
Ash
Wednesday
This
year's Lenten season began with the burning of last year's blessed
palms, announcing with the blessed ashes, and mass on Ash Wednesday.
Father Taylor presided over the unique liturgies of this day which
transitions from ordinary time, following the joyous Christmas
season, to 40 days of repentance and preparation for Easter. We
had excellent participation at the morning service (not pictured)
as well as the evening observance shown below. Participation in
the Lenten liturgies including Friday masses and the way of the
cross, are an excellent opportunity for spiritual renewal and
redirection.
This season will also
be marked by our Friday Lenten Fish Fry and will reach its high
point with Holy Week and Easter some weeks ahead.
