Father Boniface Hardin
50th Anniversary Celebration

        On Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2009, Holy Angels Parish and our Pastor, Father Kenneth Taylor, were privileged to host the 50th anniversary of priesthood for Father Boniface Hardin. Among Father Hardin's many accomplishments are the founding of Martin University, leadership in civil rights issues, and community activism (biography http://alumni.saintmeinrad.edu/?Hardin).
        Father Hardin was joined for a 3 o'clock liturgy of celebration by friends from around the area, fellow priests, and many Holy Angels parishioners. The Indianapolis Archdiocesan African Catholic Ministry provided African dance and music as well as a presentation of symbols of honor in African tradition. Holy Angels Gospel Choir provided liturgical music and Holy Angels' parish hosted a dinner reception in Waldon Hall after the mass.
