Holy Spirit Novena After Jesus’ Ascension into heaven, the disciples waited for Jesus to fulfill his promise of sending the Holy Spirit by gathering in prayer. So the time between Ascension and Pentecost has become a special time of prayer for the Church marked by a novena to the Holy Spirit. You will have an opportunity to imitate the first disciples. We will hold a special evening of prayer in the church on Thur. May 8 at 7:00 pm. Like that first group of disciples, we will pray that we will be ready to receive the Holy Spirit when he comes to us again this Pentecost. Pentecost The Holy Spirit comes, the Church is born! The celebration of Pentecost takes place at all Masses the weekend of May 10-11. We want to show the world that we are filled with the Holy Spirit and so the call goes out for everyone to wear something red to church next weekend. New Servers It
