Holy
Angels Adult Religious Education sponsors another opportunity
for learning about our faith on Friday evenings, August 1, 8,
and 15, 2008. Father Matthias Neuman, Chaplain at the Benedictine
Monastery in Beech Grove Indiana, a theological historian, and
has served as an adjunct professor of theology at Saint Meinrad,
is scheduled to host the first two sessions. Session I covered
the history of Catholic parishes since the beginnings of the
Church. Session II covered the parish today and in the future.
In the final session, Father Jim Farrell, currently at Fatima
Retreat House, provided a personal perspective on the parish
present and future. Brown bag picnic dinners began at 6:30 with
parishioners bringing their own meals along with chairs or blankets.
The parish also provided hot dogs, chips, and drinks for anyone
who didn't wish to pack a dinner at some of the sessions, snacks
at others.
From the photos below,
you can see a sizable and engaged group of adults and younger
parishioners turned out for the lectures. The first four rows
of images are from Session I with Father Matthias Neuman. The
last rows of images are from Session III with Father Jim Farrell.
Suggestions are being solicited for next season's lecture series.
